6 Names Missing from Ward 7 Democrats Ballot

The Vote is Saturday, April 22

At least six candidates running for positions in the Ward 7 Democrats organization were left off the ballot for April 22 election. It’s unclear if the organizers left off more names.

Maceo Thomas, who is running for second vice chair of the Ward 7 Democrats, discovered his name was not on the ballot, along with candidates:

  • Sa’id Chestnut, running for Precinct 96 captain;
  • Brian Watson, running for Precinct 97 captain;
  • Rochelle Bent, running for Precinct 105 captain;
  • Adondra Woods, running for Precinct 110 captain;
  • and Robert Smith, running for Precinct 113 captain.

Thomas has urged voters to email several people heading the organization to have the missing names put on the ballot immediately. He also requested an official apology to all Ward 7 democrats, he wrote in an email Wednesday. The officials include:

The in-person vote will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Road Library (3935 Benning Road NE).

The Ward 7 Democrats have not yet issued a public correction or apology.
